Is it possible to add a way to break out when the SMP computation limit is reached?
Right now it's a real pain when the app gets stuck in a loop and it seems like the only way to get out is to kill the app and you lose all of your work.

Can you explain better what you're asking for? Currently, what you describe, is the SMP computation limit. That's when it stops trying.

I think he's asking for an asynchronous computation so that interface keeps responding while it's computing the heavy stuff and a button somewhere to cancel it if you don't want to wait any longer. This is mage model specific. I know this can be a real pain. I'm basically cheating when I'm doing heavy optimization and run from Visual Studio and just break in debugger and change next instruction to out of solver loop. I also use trace messages to show progress of the solver and this would be also useful to expose.

I'll think about how to do it without interfering with other Rawr stuff.

This is now available in dev version.
