Mage is being actively maintained and, as far as I know, the current stable version should have at least some value for Cha-Ye's. Not being a mage expert myself, I can't vouch for if the numbers are correct, but Omniaa can surely tell you if it's in the ballpark.
They site that the model maintained: never at the bottom right after you load a mage shows it is not working. I see in your version notes you have posted all of the spec updates.

So, Is it functional?

And if it is...is there still an issue with Cha Ye's trinket for mages?

However, the optmizer doesn't seem to work for me, I tried on two different computers with the same character. When I click optimize nothing happens. the app is using 100% of one cores cpu-power (25% on a quad core) but nothing happens, no progress bar. I'm using the last stable 5.2.0 build.
It all depends on the class/spec and your gear level, which are the main determining factors in how valuable each secondary stat is. With all that said, I understand what you want and why you want it, but there's no option to do so and given the lack of developer involvement in Rawr currently, it's not likely to be high on our priority list. I appreciate the feedback, at least.
(suggestion?)

It's a personal opinion, to me it would be helpful if either the untampered version of a gear is in the listing among the top three ones or that you can turn off the tampering. Atleast when you hit 90 but still gearing up and you don't want to enchant and gem everything at once. Sure, there is a way around it, but you'll have to log out and in again, and then reload from battle.net and you get the untampered item ranked, but it's tedious if you could just either mark that you don't want tampered items in the ranking or have the untampered plus the top three tampered items.

I can't call if there is anything wrong with the tampering, but for one gear rawr wants me to reforge one stat for another. say A > B, but on another gear it wants me to reforge towards the stat that I removed from the first item. like this C > A, and since the conversion is about 10:4 and not 1:1 it seems like a waste. I know it could be because I hit the threshold for a stat, but I doubt it, I just hit 90 and done a bunch of heroics.
Rawr's purpose is to optimize your gear, and that includes gems/enchants/reforging. If you're looking at a piece to see if it is an upgrade, I fail to see how it is helpful to see the "untampered version" when the first thing you're going to do is gem/enchant/reforge it.

I love the application, I've been using since TBC but I took a four year hiatus until last week and I'm back for now.

I'm annoyed that I can't disable the "variants" of the gear suggested as upgrades. I've looked around quite a bit to see if there is a way to turn off the suggestions and just get the basic untampered version of a gear in the list of suggestions.

Is there already and I've missed it?
I've narrowed this down to the fact that there appears to exist some gear with random secondary stats that Rawr doesn't recognize, and thus refuses to accept. We'll try to turn this issue around as soon as we can; thanks for your patience.

New Post: Rawr 5.2 Known Issues

Hey guys, I just pushed out Rawr 5.2.0, which contains the item cache for World of Warcraft 5.2.0! I know this release has been hotly anticipated, and in order to ensure expectations are set accordingly, I want to note some things that are not/could not be done for this release.

First and foremost, we are having technical difficulties deploying the Silverlight version of Rawr. I highly recommend you download and acquaint yourself with the WPF version from the Downloads page until this issue is fixed.

The legendary meta gems are in, but not all of the procs will work out of the box. This is because some of this requires development in the models, and not all models have active developers.

Similarly, some trinkets will not work out of the box. The most notable problem trinkets are Rune of Re-origination and Cha-Ye's Essence of Brilliance. If you encounter a trinket issue, please check the version notes to see if your model has been updated to include support.

The item update process brought in 3600+ items, not all of which could be reviewed manually to ensure that the item stats or drop/vendor source are correct. I can also not guarantee that all items added in Patch 5.2 are, in fact, in the item cache. If you discover a missing item or an item missing some stats or source data, please let me know in this thread.

I am trialing some code that will enable loading a character from Battle.Net to bring down your upgraded items. This requires some work on our server side components, so if you are having trouble downloading your characters, please be patient and try again several times over the span of an hour or so. I apologize for the inconvenience ahead of time, but it's all in the name of making Rawr more accurate for all.

Thanks for your patience, all, and happy Rawr-ing!

New Post: Thank you so much!

First: Thank you a thousand times over for taking this on. I was forced to use Mr. Robot, which still is a good tool, but not nearly as accurate as RAWR.

I have been manually adding items for my mage build and all is good, except for the trinkets and the legendary meta. I have added them but do not know the exact rppm value I am supposed to input for a fire mage. The meta rppm value varies depending on class and I need a little guidance as to the value I need to input for the proc. Any help with rppm values for all of the 5.2 trinkets would be greatly appreciated.
Starting from the top, the box with the "Add" button next to it is special; start typing the name of a stat into it, and you can pick the stat that you want to add to the special effect. Then click Add, and you can fill in the value of the stat. The Trigger is the thing that makes the proc go off; I'm not entirely sure as to the subtleties of all the melee triggers, so I'm afraid I won't be of much use to you there; I suggest you just play with it and see what it does to the DPS value. Duration is how long the proc lasts, Cooldown is the ICD of the proc, and in the Chance box you're going to fill in the RPPM value and select "RPPM" from the dropdown next to it. Don't freak out if the number you enter disappears; it will save your value exactly as you entered it. Stacking trinkets should set Max Stacks. Don't worry about Spell Power or Attack Power scaling, as those are reserved for certain damage trinkets whose proc damage scales.

New Post: Thank you so much!

Sorry if this has been explained somewhere else, but can you tell us how to set the RPPM up for trinkets? I assume its in Add Special Effect... in the Item editor, but I'm unsure of which trigger to use, and the other values as well. I have the 522 versions of Renataki's Soul Charm and Talisman of Bloodlust, and would like to set them up with their proper proc in Rawr.
The item cache is actively being worked on, and I hope to be able to release a full 5.2-compatible version Soon (tm). No promises as to time, but next week is a distinct possibility if I get enough free time to work on it. In the meantime, you should now be able to use the Item Editor to set up the trinkets with the correct RPPM values.

I have been using Rawr for a couple of years now and I have loved every single update. When it became silent, I was hoping there would be an update coming out. I play a resto shaman and sure, there are other things out there, but Rawr gave me so much freedom to weigh and craft.

I know that this does not have the 5.2 items added and the stat weights and modelling of 5.2, let alone the new RPPM system, but I am so happy that it's getting back on track and I'm looking so forward again for an update. :)

My heart out to the volunteers, developers, contributers, everyone involved into the Rawr program and all it's associated belongings!

As you've probably read in the other Discussion down the page, Kavan sent me instructions for creating Rawr builds, and I will be assuming that responsibility forthwith. I can't give you an immediate schedule for exactly when the next build will be out the door, but I would like it to be Soon (tm). Unfortunately, this means that it will probably ignore the latest new items, but my priority right now is to fight the immediate fires - unable to load characters, errors when optimizing, item sets, and other show-stopping bugs. I would beg your patience as I get set into this role and try to wrangle things back on track; I am, after all, only a volunteer, and my time to work on Rawr is limited at best.
