Faerie fire armour reduction for spells?

I noticed that when I set FF in the armour reduction section of the buffs tab it increases my DPS - but I'm boomkin. I was under the impression armor reduction did nothing for caster DPS - spell penetration being the more effective (but still largely rubbish) stat. Has this changed or is this a bug?

Oh, and I notice Sunder/expose armour/acid spit apparently does the same.

You have treants.  Treant damage is affected by armor reduction debuffs like sunder and faerie fire.  Yes, I actually went to that level of detail in the model.  Also, even if you don't have treants, you will see a DPS increase because having FF checked enables Imp FF's 3% crit buff in the model.

Hmm ok.I'd forgotten about the treants.

At a glance that seemed high (looking at sunder armour now) at ~18dps increase. But I guess over the course of a five minute fight it only equates to 5400 more damage... so I guess its possible treants could do that.

Thanks for the clarification.
